Law enforcers donned the hats of matchmakers and solemnized the marriage of a couple after the angry groom refused to show up at the wedding. A police team visited the groom’s family and convinced them for the marriage.

Later, the marriage ceremony was conducted in a grand manner. The heartwarming incident has been reported from Mendoli village under Junabai police limits in UP’s Sambhal district.

According to sources, Raghunandan of Mendoli village had fixed his daughter Sashi’s marriage with a youth identified as Nempal Singh from the neighbouring village. Even as everything was done as per the demands of the groom, his family continued to postpone the marriage ceremony.

Earlier, the couple was supposed to get married on June 11. However, the groom’s family did not show up with the baraat and the wedding had to be postponed. Another date was fixed for marriage and the groom’s family once again did not show up.

This continued for a couple of times. Every time a new date would be made, but the groom’s family would not show up citing various reasons. A panchayat meeting was also called in this regard, but the groom’s family gave various excuses.

With no other option left, the bride’s family approached the SP seeking justice. Following the intervention of SP, a police team reached the house of the groom’s family and convinced them for the marriage.

Later, Nempal Singh along with 25 people from his village reached the girl's house and the marriage was organised happily. The girl's side welcomed the wedding procession and the bride was sent off with joy and happiness along with the groom.
