SSR 'murder' case: 'Arrest Rhea Chakraborty' trends on X as fans cry for justice

The tragic death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, 2020, remains one of India’s most controversial and unresolved cases. Initially classified as suicide by the Mumbai police, the case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Allegations from Sushant’s family that the actor’s then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her family being involved in the death of SSR forced the government to handover the case to CBI. 

However, even after nearly four years, the CBI investigation remains inconclusive, with no final being report submitted yet.

Rhea Chakraborty faced intense media scrutiny after Sushant’s death. She was arrested in September 2020 in a drugs-related case linked to the investigation but was released on bail in October 2020. 

Earlier this year, Rhea was allowed to travel abroad with her family after a Mumbai court quashed the Look Out Circulars (LOCs) issued against her. The CBI attempted to appeal the decision, but the Bombay High Court refused to stay its order.

Fans and supporters of Sushant Singh Rajput are angered by the lack of closure in the investigation and continue to demand justice for the late actor.
