'SorryNotEnough' trends amid AIADMK-DMK Row

The hashtag #SorryNotEnough has surged on social media after a photograph of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa was found discarded near a garbage bin during an official event in Vedasandur, Dindigul district. 

The incident occurred on June 28, 2025, during the inauguration of a Tangedco distribution office, attended by Food Minister R. Sakkarapani and MLA S. Gandhirajan. 

AIADMK leaders allege that the photo, previously displayed in the office, was removed by electricity board officials and discarded behind the building. 

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami condemned the act as a grave insult to Jayalalithaa's legacy, accusing the Stalin-led DMK government of deliberate disrespect. He stated that the people of Tamil Nadu would respond to this affront through the ballot box.

The incident has ignited a political firestorm, with AIADMK supporters expressing outrage online, using #SorryNotEnough to demand accountability. The DMK has not issued an official response regarding the matter.

This controversy adds to the ongoing tensions between the DMK and AIADMK, with the latter accusing the ruling party of undermining the contributions of past leaders. As the 2026 state elections approach, such incidents are likely to further polarise the political landscape in Tamil Nadu.
