PUBLISHED: LAST UPDATE:

Mukesh Ambani, one of the wealthiest men in the world, owns the opulent abode Antilia. The 27-storey building's design is inspired by Indian temples and incorporates elements of ancient Indian architecture. However, do you know that the opulent abode of the Ambanis doesn't have air conditioners?

Antilia

Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, is the richest Indian and holds the 18th rank worldwide with a net worth of $92.5 billion (Rs 18.13 lakh crores), according to Forbes. Mukesh Ambani, one of the wealthiest men in the world, owns the opulent abode Antilia, renowned for its extravagant design, cutting-edge technology and lavish amenities. The 27-storey building's design is inspired by Indian temples and incorporates elements of ancient Indian architecture. However, do you know that the opulent abode of the Ambanis doesn't have air conditioners?

About Antilia

Reportedly, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's Antilia sprawls over 400, 000 square feet land, and features 49 bedrooms, a ball room, a hanging garden, 168 parking spaces, swimming pools, and even a snow room. It was designed by the Chicago-based architeture firm Perkins and Will at an estimated cost of Rs 15000 crore and managed by the Australian company Leighton Holdings.

No AC in Antilia?

However, despite being equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, Antilia doesn't have conventional air conditioning system. Surprising! Isn't it?

If the media reports are anything to go by, Ambani's grand and luxurious residence features a specially designed central cooling system that seamlessly blends with the unique architecture.

Unlike the traditional AC's bulky outdoor units, the central cooling system is integrated into the building's design to maintain comfort and aesthetics.

Notably, Antilia features a highly sophisticated centralised cooling system, but it's unlike anything found in a typical home. Interestingly, the temperature inside the building isn't manually controlled. Instead, it is automatically regulated based on the internal environment and the thermal properties of the indoor elements.

Elements such as marble, fresh flowers, and indoor plants play a crucial role in determining the perfect temperature.

If media reports are anything to go by, the system adjusts itself across different areas of the building to preserve the quality, and appearance of these materials and maintain ideal conditions at all times.
