Indians across the country rang in the New Year 2025, with record-breaking online orders. Instead of cakes, chocolates and other food items, hilariously grapes, condoms, and chips were the most sold online on the celebratory occasion of New Year’s Eve.

Party staples such as chips, coke, and namkeen were the toast of the evening. This was revealed by Blinkit co-founder Albinder Dhindsa. Taking to his X handle, Dhindsa revealed that his delivery executives had delivered around 2.3L packets of aloo bhujiya’s and 6834 packets of ice cubes by 8 PM on December 31.

Moreover, he added that condoms were in high demand with 39% of condom sales for a chocolate flavour, with strawberry at 31% and bubblegum at 19%. Surprisingly, people even ordered grapes on the last day of the year, raising curiosity online.

“1,22,356 packs of condoms, 45,531 bottles of mineral water, 22,322 Partysmart, 2,434 Eno are en-route right now! Prep for after party? 😅Party's just getting started!” Dhindsa shared.

He further added, “What’s with the sudden craze for grapes today? It’s one of the highest ordered items on the platforms since morning.”

“Another product which I didn’t expect will be ordered in high quantities – men’s underwear,” he further added.

He also revealed that the biggest party order of the day was placed from Kolkata, amounting to Rs 64988. And someone from Hyderabad gave the highest tip of the day i.e. Rs 2500 while Bengaluru tipped the most with a total of Rs 1,79L.
