Debt-ridden couple jumps into Ganga in Haridwar, leaves behind heartbreaking suicide note
A young ‘debt-ridden’ couple from Saharanpur allegedly died by suicide by jumping into Ganga river in Haridwar. A heartbreaking suicide note and a selfie taken by them before ending their lives have now gone viral, sending chills down the spine.
The couple, a young jeweler Saurabh Babbar (35) and his wife Mona Babbar, took the tragic step due to their worsening financial situation and mounting debts, with no hope of relief, police said.
According to TOI, while the body of Saurabh was recovered, a search operation was still on to find his wife Mona.
“Main Karz Ke DalDal Main Iss Kadar Fas Gaya Hun Ki Bahar Nikalne Ka Koi Rashta Nahin Bacha. Anth Main Mein Aur Meri Dharam Patni Apna Jeevan Samapth Kar Rahein Hein,” read their suicide letter.
The couple also entrusted the care of their two children to their grandmother and wrote, “Hamari Kishanpur Wali Property Hamare Dono Bachchon Ke Liye Hai. Hamare Dono Bache Apni Nani Ke Ghar Rahenge, Hume Kisi Aur Par Bharosha Nahin Hai.”
“Iss Duniya Ko Alvida,” concluded the suicide letter.
