The groom Hukumchandra Jaiswal, narrated the sequence of events that culminated in the breakdown of the joyous marriage occasion. As per the groom, he had agreed to marry the girl without any dowry. Everything was going on well, but a dispute erupted over seating near the cooler at the wedding venue.

Tensions escalated as the situation led to a fight between the guests of both the groom and the bride. Things got uglier after the news of the fight reached the bride who was waiting in another room. Disturbed by the unfolding commotion, she firmly refused to proceed with the marriage, citing the inauspiciousness of the situation.
