Bengaluru traffic jam: Children go to school in morning, return home at 9 pm
Long rows of cars, thousands stuck in traffic, office goers getting late for work are a daily scene in India’s IT hub Bengaluru. However, the unprecedented traffic jam became a nightmare for a man and his family after his kids returned home from school at 9pm night.
The schoolchildren who had gone to school in the morning were able to return home at 9pm at night, thanks to Bengaluru’s traffic. Taking to X (Twitter), a user shared his story and his tweet is going viral.
This is a disgraceful statement from the government. Instead of making excuses, maybe admit that Bangalore has no public transport, terrible drainage, badly maintained roads and poor city planning. My children returned from school at 9 pm, and these guys are blaming the citizens. pic.twitter.com/v9FvImQBHQ

Another user shared his experience and wrote, “2 hours and 45 mins to travel 17 kms from Electronics City to Mahadevpura with septuagenarians in the car. It seemed to be a traffic police driven chaos. For instance, the right turn towards Madiwala market after Silk Board flyover was cordoned off. Just insane scenes.”
“Similar story across cities - probably 3-4 years behind. I shudder to imagine the state of living in our cities a few years hence. Traffic has upended socialising, going out etc. Only masochists will want to step out of their house. And people will drool over an airport terminal,” shared another user.
