24-year-old youth ‘bitten’ by snake for 7th time in 40 days; investigation launched

In a bizarre incident, a youth from Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly bitten by a snake for the seventh time in 40 days.  As per initial reports, the youth is being admitted to the same hospital and treated by the same doctor and is still alive after being bitten by the snake for the seventh time.

Every time a snake bites him, he is admitted to a hospital, recovers, and returns home only to get bitten by the snake once again and the process follows. As per reports, he was bitten six times in the last 34 days and was bitten once again on Friday for the 7th time.

The victim has been identified as Vikas Dwivedi, a resident of Soura village under Malwan police limits of Fatehpur district. As per an ANI report, Vikas earlier had a dream that he would get bitten by the snake nine times.

Interestingly, he is bitten by a snake only on a Saturday. Before every snake bite, Vikas always gets a bad omen. The incident has now become the talk of the town and even the doctors at the local hospital are astounded.

Speaking to ANI, CMO Rajiv Nayan Giri said, “The victim came to the Collectorate and cried that he had spent a lot of money to cure the snake bite and now he requested financial help from the authorities. I advised him to visit a government-run hospital where he could get anti-snake venom free of cost.”

He further added, “We still need to figure out if it is actually a snake that's biting him. We also need to see the competence of the doctor who is treating him... A person being bitten by a snake every Saturday and that person being admitted to the same hospital every time, and recovering in just one day seems strange. This is why we thought of forming a team to investigate the case, after which I will tell the people the truth of the matter.”
