The Ambani family is known for their lavish functions, which was quite evident from their recently launched cultural centre. The 3-day launch event was nothing short of a glitz and glam show with Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities all being decked up in their best.  

However, did you know the Ambani family spent around Rs 220 crore for a Birthday party that to 10 years ago. 

Yes, you heard that right. On Nita Ambani’s 50th birthday in 2013, the Ambani family hosted a lavish birthday party in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur even when destination celebrations were not a thing.

To celebrate the occasion, the Ambani clan rented the lavish and ultra-expensive Umaid Bhavan Palace for the two-day celebration including a special Laxmi Puja for Dhanteras.

According to a DNA report, the Ambani family hosted around 250 guests for the celebration, who were flown to the lavish resort through 32 chartered flights owned by the Reliance group.

The guest list featured many business families and celebrities like Mittals, Mahindras, Birlas, Godrejs, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Rani Mukherjee, as well as the entire Mumbai Indians IPL team.

Reportedly, the two-day celebration was nothing short of a royal affair. Flowers for the event were specially ordered from Thailand and kid-friendly rides were brought in from London for the entertainment of children. 

The celebration also featured performances from music maestro A.R. Rahman, Priyanka Chopra and special dance recital by Nita Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani. 

A special team was flown in from Singapore for a special light show. Reportedly, Dhirubhai Ambani’s face was drawn in the sky during the show.
