WhatsApp is working to improve user experience by introducing new and useful features.

Recent reports suggest that users will soon be able to add a distinctive username to their WhatsApp accounts.

WABetaInfo, a website that tracks updates in WhatsApp, recently uncovered that the platform is creating a username feature that allows users to choose unique usernames for their accounts.

Even though it's still under development, WhatsApp will allocate a specific section within the Settings menu, under Profile, for this feature.

The report suggests that selecting a username can provide an extra level of privacy to user accounts.

By having the ability to choose a unique username, instead of just relying on phone numbers to identify contacts, users can have added control over their privacy.

Moreover, they can connect with other users by searching for their usernames, without the need to know their phone numbers.

The username feature for WhatsApp is currently under development and will soon be released to beta testers in the next update.

WhatsApp Enables Editing of Sent Messages

WhatsApp has introduced various new features lately, and one of them allows users to edit sent messages.

Users can modify their messages within 15 minutes of sending them by pressing and holding the message and then selecting the "edit" option.

The timestamp of the message will show an "edited" tag, indicating that it was changed.

It's essential to mention that WhatsApp doesn't store the editing history, and other users can't see the previously edited versions of the message.

It is always wise to keep an eye on the latest updates so that users can take advantage of the new and upcoming features.
