WhatsApp, owned by Meta, reigns as one of the most widely-used instant messaging applications across the globe having a staggering user base of over 2 billion active users.

In order to enhance its user interface, WhatsApp is reportedly working on novel features aimed at empowering group administrators to streamline the management of their groups.

Among these features are the "admin review" and "side-by-side" functions, which are exclusively designed for Android users.

Admin Review Feature

As per WABetaInfo, a site that monitors WhatsApp updates, the "admin review" function will enable group members to flag specific messages to the group administrators when the feature is activated.\

Once a message is reported, if an admin deems it to be inappropriate or in violation of the group's regulations, they can opt to remove it for all members in the group.

In the near future, this new capability will be accessible in the group settings menu, and flagged messages will be visible only to group admins in a fresh section of the app located within group information.

Currently under development, the option to report messages to group admins will be accessible to beta testers via a forthcoming app update.

By utilising the "admin review" function, group administrators will be empowered with additional tools to efficiently manage their groups and ensure that they remain appropriate for all members.

This feature is anticipated to significantly reduce the dissemination of inappropriate content and misinformation on WhatsApp.

Side-by-Side Feature

According to reports, WhatsApp is presently evaluating a novel feature, named "side-by-side," specifically for Android tablets, available to a selected group of beta testers.

With this feature, users will be able to navigate between conversations while retaining access to their ongoing chats, granting them greater control over the WhatsApp interface on their Android tablets.

Moreover, users will have the flexibility to disable the side-by-side view by toggling the option in WhatsApp Settings > Chats.

The "side-by-side" feature for Android tablets is anticipated to provide users with an enhanced multitasking experience while using WhatsApp.

With this feature, users will no longer be required to switch between conversations and potentially lose their place in ongoing chats.

Instead, they can effortlessly switch between conversations and effortlessly resume their conversations where they left off.

This functionality will significantly enhance the user experience for individuals who use WhatsApp on Android tablets.
