WhatsApp, a widely used instant messaging platform, has been facing a growing problem of fraudulent activities carried out by spammers.

This issue has resulted in a surge of unsolicited calls and messages, which has become a cause for concern for both users and WhatsApp itself.

To address this problem, WhatsApp has taken several measures to strengthen security and prevent fraudulent activities on its platform.

Recently, the company has introduced a new feature that can help users avoid random and spam calls.

This feature is expected to further enhance the security of the platform and protect its users from unwanted and malicious activities.

Spam Calls

WhatsApp has taken steps to safeguard its users against the rise of spam calls.

There are several steps that can be taken to enhance security measures, such as enhancing security features, implementing more rigorous user verification processes, and utilising machine learning to identify and prevent fraudulent activities.

Users can report spam calls using provided reporting mechanisms to enable quick action against offenders.

It is important to remain cautious and verify the authenticity of incoming calls while refraining from sharing sensitive information.

New Feature

As per a report published by WaBetaInfo, the upcoming Spam Call feature on WhatsApp is anticipated to be a substantial enhancement to the platform's security infrastructure, as it will assist users in avoiding unsolicited calls from unknown sources.

The feature has been in the beta stage for a while and has been spotted in the beta version of the Android app.

Once enabled, this feature can be accessed by users through the WhatsApp Settings > Privacy menu.

By muting incoming calls from unfamiliar phone numbers, while still displaying them in the Calls tab and notification centre, users can effectively utilise this feature.

This feature empowers individuals to maintain their focus on work or other crucial tasks, free from any distractions or interruptions.
