WhatsApp has added useful features to its platform over the years, such as the ability to pay other users from within a chat. The messaging service is also working on a slew of minor but useful app updates.

Where communicating through WhatsApp has become a necessity, Meta has come up with a new feature called “Recent Groups”. With this feature, WhatsApp users will be allowed to search WhatsApp groups using a contact name.

Desktop users running version 2.2245.9 are able to see ‘Recent Groups’ every time they search for a contact name in the search list.

Readers should be aware that a feature that lists all your groups in common with a specific contact is already available within their chat information, but WhatsApp is making it easier and faster to use directly within the chat list, according to the report.

As previously stated, WhatsApp's recent groups feature is only available to desktop users. It is expected to be made available to more people in the coming days.
