WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to lock specific person and group chats.

This new update was released on May 3, 2023, and is currently only available to selected users who have downloaded the WhatsApp beta version 2.23.10.4 and above.

Chat Lock feature:

With the new Chat Lock feature, WhatsApp users can now secure their private conversations by locking them with a password or fingerprint.

This ensures that no unauthorised user access the locked chat even if they have access to the owner's smartphone.

Lock private conversations:

The Chat Lock feature is a convenient way for WhatsApp users to protect their private conversations from unauthorised access.

To access this feature, beta users need to open the WhatsApp app and select the chat they want to lock.

After selecting the chat, they need to tap on the user's name and select the "Chat Lock" option from the list.

They can then set up a password or fingerprint, depending on their device settings.

To unlock a locked chat, the user needs to click on the chat and then enter their password or scan their fingerprint.

This added layer of security ensures that only authorised users can read the locked messages, keeping the private conversations secure.
