After Billionaire Elon Musk takeover, Twitter has started rolling out its 'Blue' service in India, which includes a verification tag. The service is likely to be more expensive in India and will cost Rs 719 a month while it costs $8 in the US.

The update though is currently available only on iPhones. The service is expected to be available for all in the coming days.

Users who subscribe to Twitter Blue will get a 'blue tick' without undergoing any verification. The micro-blogging platform's new owner, Elon Musk, has also said that subscribers would get priority in reach and display on Twitter.

On charging $8 for the Blue subscription service, Musk earlier said: "Trash me all day, but it'll cost $8."

According to the report, when users try to join up the new plan, the app flashes a pop-up saying, "Blue looks good on you, enjoy your verified checkmark."

A Twitter user said: "Twitter has officially launched the revamped Twitter Blue for $7.99 per month in select countries."

"Not all features are live yet. Some are coming later. Looks like the blue verified checkmark is now part of Twitter Blue, but as a Blue user I'm not seeing a checkmark yet," the user posted.
