Apple on May 16 introduced exciting accessibility features for iOS 17. Designed to empower users with disabilities, these tools address speech, vision, and motor challenges.

While locating them in settings may be difficult, we have uncovered a hidden iPhone power button feature that provides quick access to these options.

Curiously, the iPhone power button, also known as the side button, conceals a fascinating secret.

It grants you immediate access to the desired accessibility features.

Even if your iPhone relies on TouchID rather than FaceID, you can still tap into this concealed treasure by using the Home button instead.

Follow these simple instructions to configure your iPhone accordingly.

Navigate to your iPhone's Settings.

  1. Scroll through the menu until you find the "Accessibility" option.
  2. Tap on "Accessibility" to access a new window with various accessibility tools.
  3. Locate and select "Accessibility Shortcut," which offers a range of options to choose from.
  4. Within the "Accessibility Shortcut" menu, you will encounter an array of valuable accessibility features that cater to your specific needs.

Here are a few examples to help you grasp the potential benefits.

Magnifier: By utilising your iPhone's camera, Magnifier transforms your device into a magnifying glass, allowing you to read small texts with ease.

Switch Control: This powerful feature empowers you to interact with your iPhone using switches, enabling actions such as selecting, tapping, dragging items, typing, and even freehand drawing.

Background Sound: If you seek a moment of tranquility, the Background Sound option plays soothing tracks that help calm your senses.

Once you have identified the accessibility feature you desire, activating it becomes a breeze.

Just triple-tap the power button (or Home button, depending on your iPhone model) for instant access and control of the feature with a single tap.
