- To begin, open your preferred web browser such as Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your desktop.
- In the browser's address bar, enter "https://web.whatsapp.com/" and press Enter. You will be directed to the WhatsApp Web page.
- On the WhatsApp Web page, you will notice an option that says "Link with phone number." Click on this option.
- WhatsApp will prompt you to enter your phone number. Type your phone number in the provided field.
- Simultaneously, open WhatsApp on your mobile device. Tap on the three-dot menu and select "Linked Devices."
- Within the "Linked Devices" menu, tap on "Link a device." This action will initiate the security verification process.
- On your mobile device, the camera will open. Tap on the option that says "Link with phone number instead."
- Returning to your desktop, after entering your phone number, click on "Next." WhatsApp will display an alphanumeric code consisting of eight letters and digits.
- You will receive a text message containing an OTP (one-time password) based on the alphanumeric code displayed on your desktop.
- You need to enter this OTP on your mobile device in order to verify the code in the appropriate field on your smartphone.
- After entering the verification code, WhatsApp will automatically log you into your account on the desktop without the need for a QR code.
