When it comes to mid-range smartphones in India, two popular models are the POCO X5 Pro and the iQOO Z6 Pro. Both of these smartphones are often recommended to those who are looking for a phone that costs between Rs 23,000 and Rs 24,000.

Design:

The design of both the POCO X5 Pro and the iQOO Z6 Pro is impressive. The POCO X5 Pro has a simple design with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that works well. On the other hand, the iQOO Z6 Pro has an under-display fingerprint scanner, which is a feature that many people find attractive. The iQOO Z6 Pro also has a metal frame and a good color finish, which makes it look more premium than the POCO X5 Pro.

However, the POCO X5 Pro has a big headphone jack and dual speakers in Dolby Atmosphere, which is not present in the iQOO Z6 Pro.

Display:

If you are someone who loves big screens, then the POCO X5 Pro is perfect for you as it has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. The iQOO Z6 Pro, on the other hand, has a slightly smaller 6.44-inch AMOLED display. The POCO X5 Pro has a 5000mAh battery capacity, while the iQOO Z6 Pro has a 4700mAh battery. The POCO X5 Pro also comes with a 67W charger, while the iQOO Z6 Pro has a 66W charger, which is a negligible difference.

Software:

The POCO X5 Pro runs on MIUI 14, while the iQOO Z6 Pro runs on Funtouch OS 13. The iQOO Z6 Pro also runs on Android 13 and has the January security update, while the POCO X5 Pro runs on Android 12 and has the January security patch update. The POCO X5 Pro has a few ads compared to the iQOO Z6 Pro.

Performance:

The performance of both smartphones is quite similar. Both the POCO X5 Pro and the iQOO Z6 Pro have the Snapdragon 778G processor, LPDDR4x RAM, and UFS2.2 storage. They also have the same percentage score on AnTuTu and the same score on stress tests. However, the iQOO Z6 Pro offers better gaming performance with its 60fps setting on various games, while the POCO X5 Pro offers medium to ultra settings and up to 90fps.

Camera:

Moving on to the camera department, the POCO X5 Pro boasts a triple-camera setup with a 108 MP primary sensor, 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. On the other hand, the iQOO Z6 Pro comes with a triple-camera setup consisting of a 64 MP primary sensor, 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. In terms of camera performance, both smartphones deliver impressive results, but the POCO X5 Pro has an edge with its better blurring effect and a higher megapixel count. Both devices can record 4K videos at 30fps, but the POCO X5 Pro's front camera can record videos at 1080p/60fps, whereas the iQOO Z6 Pro's front camera can only record at 1080p/30fps.

Price in India:

Both devices have their strengths and weaknesses, and it ultimately boils down to your personal preference and budget. With the POCO X5 Pro priced at Rs. 22,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and the iQOO Z6 Pro priced at Rs. 23,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, these smartphones are definitely worth considering if you are in the market for a mid-range smartphone.
