This feature enables users to lock their chats separately and keep them concealed from others. 

Enabling Chat Lock on WhatsApp

To activate Chat Lock on WhatsApp, please follow these straightforward steps.

  1. Firstly, download or update WhatsApp to the latest version on your Android or iOS device.
  2. Open WhatsApp and access the chat that you want to lock.
  3. Select the profile picture of the individual contact or group chat.
  4. You will notice a new feature named "Chat Lock" located below the disappearing message option. Click on it.
  5. Activate Chat Lock and authenticate yourself by using your phone password or biometric feature.

Using Chat Lock on WhatsApp

After activating Chat Lock on WhatsApp, any specific chat that you have locked will be safeguarded and concealed from unauthorised access.

If an individual tries to access a secured chat, they will only be able to view a blurred image instead of the actual messages in the notification bar.

The content of the chat will only become visible once you provide the passcode or biometric authentication to unlock the chat.
