How to block and unblock irritating marketing spam calls; know here

People often find themselves inundated with calls from personal contacts, work-related matters, and various marketing promotions.

While the advertised products may be valuable, the constant barrage of calls, especially from marketing members in our society, can be quite irritating.

Many individuals attempt to block these calls, but marketers often use new numbers to reach them, making it challenging to find a lasting solution.

Here's a simple way to block these annoying marketing spam calls:

1. Open your messaging application and click on the 'Start Chat' button.
2. In the recipient section, type the number '1909,' and in the message box, type 'Fully Block.'
3. You will receive a message from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) stating that your number has been registered for the fully blocked category in the DND Registry. A reference number will be provided.
4. The message assures you that all promotional SMS and calls will cease for your number within 24 hours.

This method allows you to block spam messages and calls on your smartphone. 

Additionally, individual apps and networks offer similar features. Here's how to activate DND on different networks:

For Jio:

• Open the MyJio app.
• Navigate to Settings and click on Service settings.
• Select 'Do not disturb' and choose the categories you want to block and unblock from receiving calls and messages.

For Airtel:

• Visit the Airtel official site at airtel.in/airtel-dnd.
• Enter your mobile number and verify it with the OTP received.
• Choose the categories you wish to block and unblock.

For BSNL:

• Send the message "start 0" to 1909 from your BSNL number.
• After this message the DND mode will be activated.
