The Department of Telecommunications, also known as DoT, provides a range of complementary tools designed to detect and remove bots.

These tools are essential for safeguarding your devices from potential threats.

CERT-In, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, has been sending SMS messages to individuals, urging them to have their devices checked on the Cyber Swachhta Kendra (CSK) portal.

In response to the increasing menace of malware attacks and scams, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has taken proactive measures to enhance the security of people's devices, particularly smartphones.

In recent times, many users have received text messages from CERT-In with a message like, "As part of Special Campaign 3.0, CERT-In GOI advises you to keep your digital devices free from bots. Acquire bot removal tools at the Cyber Swachhta Kendra (https://www.csk.gov.in/)."

To support this effort, the DoT introduced a range of free bot removal tools a few months ago.

These tools are aimed at helping individuals shield their devices from potential threats.

Official reports confirm that the government has been actively sending SMS notifications to users, which typically convey the importance of staying secure in the cyber realm and suggest downloading the 'Free Bot Removal Tool' from the official website csk.gov.in.

Meanwhile, a botnet is essentially a network of devices, including smartphones and computers, that have fallen prey to malware known as a ‘bot.’

Once a device becomes infected and is incorporated into the botnet, the malicious software grants hackers control over these compromised devices.
