The India Mobile Congress, a technology forum, was recently held at Bharat Mandapam on October 27. It focussed on the theme of 'Global Digital Innovation.'
In this event, one of the notable tech showcases was the Jio Glass.
The Jio Glass is a pair of smart glasses designed to connect with your smartphone and transform its content into a virtual 100-inch screen, according to a report by Indian Express.
This innovative tech product is created by Tesseract, a tech startup company owned by Reliance Industries Limited.
The company's primary focus is Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology, with a range of products including cameras, headsets, and smart glasses.
The Jio Glass is their flagship product, aligning with the 'Make in India' vision.
According to the Indian Express report, the Jio Glass is impressively lightweight, tipping the scales at only 69 grams.
It features a sleek metallic grey frame with two lenses, giving it a futuristic appearance.
These lenses can seamlessly switch between AR and VR modes by attaching or detaching a removable flap that conceals your eyes behind a cool chrome finish. It also creates a unique visual experience.
When the flap is attached, the glasses block out the outside world, and when it is removed, you can see the real world with an augmented reality overlay.
The Jio Glass boasts a 1080p display for each eye, effectively providing a virtual 100-inch screen.
It also incorporates two speakers on the sides, comfortably resting on top of your ears. To function, these glasses need to be connected to a smartphone using a Type-C cable, which also serves as a power source.
Regarding additional features, availability, and pricing, the details are currently undisclosed, as the company has not made an official announcement regarding these aspects.
