End of Mobile Era! Did Mark Zuckerberg announce the date? Check details

Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chairman of Meta including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is one of the biggest names in technology. Recently, he made a shocking statement announcing the possibility of the 'End of Mobile Era'.

As per reports, Mark Zuckerberg claims that the end of smartphones may be near. As per the tech leader's claims, innovative technology is about to emerge that will replace cell phones. Well, this advanced technology will change the way we know cell phones and transform the way we connect and interact with the world.

The possibility of replacing smartphones as the prime personal communication device is no longer a futuristic idea. The development of smart glasses from Meta and Baidu will possibly make it relevant.

Reportedly, Mark Zuckerberg and Baidu CEO Robin Li are making heavy investments in Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) devices with a vision of a future where smart glasses will emerge as the next big advancement in personal technology.

For more than two decades, Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has remained the leader in social connectivity technologies. However, it hasn't forayed into the smartphone market. With Project Orion, Meta has developed AR glasses and Zuckerberg believes that the company will find its niche in hardware. The tech leader describes Orion glasses as more than just wearable devices. It is equipped with an advanced holographic display and AR technology. Users can access multiple virtual displays, send messages and hold video conferences. Moreover, it is claimed that users can also play games without requiring a device. Users can interact with the device through voice commands, gestures and even eye movement.

However, Orion needs improvements in terms of design and aesthetics.

Meanwhile, Meta maintains a long-term vision and continues to invest in overcoming the barriers so that the glasses can be launched at a competitive price in the coming years.

Reportedly, Zuckerberg believes that smart glasses will replace smartphones by the 2030s.
