The Apple Watch has demonstrated its life-saving abilities once again.

In a recent incident, a user named Alexander fell from a ladder, sustaining a serious head injury.

According to a report from Apple Insider, the Apple Watch Series 8 automatically contacted emergency services and alerted the person's wife using its fall detection feature.

The Life-Saving Role of the Apple Watch

Alexander Laserson's life was saved by the fall detection feature of his Apple Watch Series 8.

Although he could not respond to the alert due to his injuries, the watch detected his immobility after about a minute and promptly sent notifications to emergency services and his designated contacts, including his wife.

Luckily, his wife found him soon after the incident and was able to communicate with emergency responders.

Laserson's injuries were immediately addressed by swiftly transporting him to the emergency room via an ambulance.

Medical professionals acted promptly, administering seven stitches to treat his wounds.

Laserson expressed deep appreciation to Apple for the life-saving technology of the Apple Watch, acknowledging its rapid response during his emergency.

How Its Work

When the watch detects motionlessness for around a minute, it starts a 30-second countdown.

Meanwhile, it taps the user's wrist and sounds an alert, gradually increasing in volume to ensure it is noticed.

If emergency services are not needed, the user can tap "Cancel."

Nevertheless, once the countdown reaches its conclusion, the Apple Watch takes the initiative to connect with emergency services and the user's predetermined emergency contacts.
