Apple iPhone 16 and 16 Pro details leaked ahead of today’s ‘Glowtime’ events; features explained

Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 16 Series today, September 9, at the company's Glowtime event. The new iPhones will be introduced alongside some new wearable products. 

The iPhone 16 Series will include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. 

Ahead of the launch, some details about the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro have been leaked. Here’s what you need to know about these premium smartphones:

Camera

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to move away from the diagonal rear camera layout, featuring vertically stacked cameras in a capsule-shaped module. This marks a departure from the design used since the iPhone 11.

The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to keep their current triple-camera setup. New color options may include white, black, blue, green, and pink.

Camera Features

The iPhone 16 series is expected to have an anti-reflective optical coating and ALD protection for the camera lens. The iPhone 16 Pro models may include an upgraded 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera lens and 48-megapixel ProRAW photos in Ultra Wide mode.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max might offer enhanced optical zoom capabilities with a super telephoto periscope camera, providing up to 5x optical zoom—a feature currently available only on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Display

The iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to increase its screen size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches while the iPhone 16 Pro Max may expand from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches.

Performance

The iPhone 16 series is likely to be powered by the A18 chip across all models, each with 8GB of RAM to support new Apple Intelligence features.

Battery

The iPhone 16 is expected to have a 3,561mAh battery, while the iPhone 16 Plus might feature a 4,006mAh battery. The Pro models are rumored to have larger batteries, with the iPhone 16 Pro possibly featuring a 3,577mAh battery and the iPhone 16 Pro Max a 4,676mAh battery.

Price in India

The iPhone 16 is expected to be priced around Rs 67,100, while the iPhone 16 Plus might cost around Rs 75,500. The Pro models are likely to start at a higher price, with the iPhone 16 Pro priced around Rs 92,300 for the 256GB variant and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starting at approximately Rs 1,00,700.
