Things have not been well within Mumbai Indians (MI) ever since Hardik Pandya replaced Hitman Rohit Sharma as the captain of the team. The decision of the MI management to replace 5-time IPL trophy-winning captain with Pandya has not gone well with cricket lovers.

The latest to express his resentment in the matter is former cricketer Yuvraj Singh. The left-handed batsman opined that MI should have retained Rohit as the captain at least for this season. Hardik Pandya should have been the vice-captain.

“Rohit Sharma is a five-time IPL winner as captain. Removing him is a big decision. I would’ve probably got in something for example Hardik. But I would have given Rohit another season and let Hardik be the vice-captain and see how the whole franchise worked,” Yuvraj said during an interview.

“But obviously, I understand from the franchise point of view, that they have to see the future. But again, Rohit is still the Indian captain, and he’s playing really well. so, it’s a big decision, Yuvi added.

Worth mentioning, Pandya who led Gujarat Titans (GT) in 2022 and 2023, has returned to MI where he started his IPL career.
