Rajasthan Royals talented opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently in the form of his life. The aggressive batsman scripted history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Friday.

Jaiswal pipped former Punjab Kings batter Shaun Marsh to register the record for the most runs scored by an uncapped batter in a single season of the IPL. In the process, the southpaw broke a 15-year-old record. He achieved the rare feat with another half-century against PBKS.

Though Jaiswal lost his opening partner Jos Buttler on a duck, he helped his side record a thrilling four-wicket win in the game with an impactful knock 50 from just 36 balls. RR registered the all-important victory against PBKS which kept them alive in the race for the IPL 2023 playoff.

Playing for RR, Jaiswal has scored 625 runs in 14 matches this season. He will get a chance to extend his tally if RR qualify for the playoff. Jaiswal is yet to play for India.

Notably, Marsh had not played for Australia when he scored 616 runs for Punjab Kings in the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008.
