Tony Grieg elaborating No Ball controversy

Nearly 13 years back, a series of controversies had erupted over a No Ball bowled by Sri Lankan cricketer Suraj Randiv that left Virender Sehwag stranded on 99 in a triangular series in 2010. After that match, several controversies had started over the 'deliberate' No ball.

Now an old video of late commentator Tony Greig has emerged in which he was seen elaborating on what exactly had happened before the controversial No ball.

During the 34th over, Suraj Randiv bowled a delivery that had missed everything and gone for 4 byes. The ball was kept low and was difficult for Kumar Sangakkara to take.

In the 2nd ball, Sehwag played a shot to backward point which went straight to the fielder. A voice was heard saying you can bowl a No ball if you want which was said by Kumar Sangakkara.

Then Suraj Randiv responded with is it Okay?

In the 3rd ball, Randiv deliberately bowled a No ball as he overstepped denying Sehwag to score an international hundred against Sri Lanka. He was left stranded on 99*.

After the match, the Sri Lankan team apologised to Virender Sehwag for their actions on the field.

Eventually, India won the match by 6 wickets in Dambulla. Virender Sehwag was declared Man of the Match.
