Shah Rukh Khan
India and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star batter Rinku Singh has shared a touching story about Bollywood icon and KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan, proving once again why the superstar is loved both on and off the field.
After missing out on the main squad for India’s T20 World Cup 2024, Rinku was placed in the reserves and had to travel to Mumbai for visa formalities. That’s when Shah Rukh Khan stepped in with an unforgettable gesture.
Speaking to RevSportz, Rinku revealed he was hesitant when asked to travel with SRK.
“I was nervous… I thought, ‘How will I sit and talk to him alone?’ I even tried to refuse,” Rinku recalled with a laugh.
But once Shah Rukh personally extended the invite, Rinku couldn’t say no.
During the two-hour chartered flight, Rinku says Shah Rukh not only made him comfortable but also motivated him through a difficult season.
“He encouraged me a lot, explained things calmly, and kept boosting my confidence,” said the KKR batter.
Rinku, who shot to fame in IPL 2023 with five back-to-back sixes against Yash Dayal, cemented his place as a KKR star and was retained for a massive ₹13 crore ahead of the 2025 season.
With his confidence soaring, the 27-year-old will now gear up for the Asia Cup 2025, where India kicks off its campaign against the UAE on September 10.
From setbacks to superstardom, Rinku Singh’s journey with Shah Rukh Khan cheering him on continues to inspire cricket fans everywhere.
