Sachin Tendulkar

India’s batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar remains one of the finest to have ever graced the cricketing field. Known for his flawless technique, impeccable timing, and unmatched hand-eye coordination, the Master Blaster redefined batting for generations.

But one aspect that intrigued fans throughout his career was his frequent tryst with the nervous nineties.

Sachin Opens Up in a Fun AMA

Recently, the cricket icon hosted a hilarious yet insightful Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit. Fans bombarded him with questions, and Sachin didn’t disappoint, sharing stories, anecdotes, and candid moments from his illustrious career, including his fierce battles with Australian legends like Glenn McGrath and the late Shane Warne.

The Bucknor Banter

When asked about his equation with international umpire Steve Bucknor, Tendulkar came up with a witty reply.

“When I am batting, give him boxing gloves to wear (so he can’t raise his finger),”

Sachin quipped, leaving fans in splits.

Risky Shots Against McGrath

A fan also asked whether he ever played false shots intentionally. To this, Sachin revealed,

“Yes, on many occasions I have played risky shots to break the bowler’s rhythm. The one that comes to my mind is against McGrath in Nairobi in 2000.”

The match he referred to was the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy quarter-final, where Sachin, opening with Sourav Ganguly, scored a quick 38 off 37 balls, smashing two boundaries and three sixes. India eventually won by 20 runs, thanks to debutant Yuvraj Singh’s explosive 84-run knock, sealing a memorable victory.
