Cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) is not just high quality cricket, it is also fun and melting pot of different strata of celebrities too.

Over the years, the team owners make special gestures to encourage their cricket stars. Preity Zinta is one such celebrity team owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS). Preity has been a constant presence in the stadiums where PBKS play.

Recently, former England cricketer Ravi Bopara, who has played for PBKS, shared an interesting anecdote on Preity.

“Those were the early days in the IPL, when it was a party, those were the great days,” said Bopara during a recent interaction.

“Who would have thought Preity Zinta would make ‘aloo paranthas’ for her team? I think they have stopped eating aloo parantha after that,” the anchor asked Preity during a television show.

In response Preity said, “First time I realised, how much do you boys eat! We were in South Africa, and they did not serve good all ‘paranthas’ at the hotel. Then I told them, ‘I will teach you all how to make ‘aloo parantha’. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make ‘aloo paranthas’ for them too. I told them that, I will make’ aloo paranthas’ if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 ‘aloo paranthas’ for the team. After that I have stopped making ‘aloo paranthas’.”
