Following their debacle in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, England team management has made drastic changes in the ODI and T20 squad for the upcoming tour of West Indies.

England have dropped some stalwarts and white ball specialists like Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root from the squad. Stokes had come out of retirement to play in the World Cup.

However, the team management has kept its trust on captain Jos Buttler. He has managed to retain his captaincy despite the fact that the team could manage to win only three out of their nine matches in the mega event. Only six players-Atkinson, Brook, Buttler, Carse, Curran, and Livingstone have been retained from the World Cup squad.

As per sources, England’s disappointing World Cup 2023 campaign has prompted a strategic shift in the team’s composition and leadership. The move by England Cricket indicates a long-term vision, acknowledging that the rebuilding process will take time and continuity is essential for the team’s development.

England will play three ODIs and five T20Is vs West Indies on their upcoming tour of Caribbean starting December 3.
