The skipper of Gujarat Titans-Hardika Pandya is currently going through the form of his life. His team registered the seventh victory in 15th edition of the Indian Premier League and almost booked their berth in the playoffs following a victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. However, Pandya got a nasty blow from young pace sensation Umran Malik during the all important match.

Umran (5/25) registered his maiden five-wicket haul in the cash-rich league, including the wicket of Hardik (10, 6 b, 2x4). When skipper Hardik walked into bat in the eighth over of the game, Umran rattled him with an express delivery which missed the all-rounder’s bat and hit him on his hand around the shoulder.

Hardik immediately started stretching the hand wreathing in pain but when the physio was rushing on to the field to treat him, the skipper asked him to go back. Hardik’s wife and Serbian dancer Natasa Stankovic was found watching the incident unfold from the stand with all concern for her husband.

However, Gujarat Titans managed to register a fighting five-wicket victory and returned to the top of the points table.
