The cricket experts often say-‘catches win matches’. Star batsman of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Rahul Tripathi proved the adage true again.

Tripathi took a one-handed screamer by flying like a bird in the cover region to send in-form Shubman Gill packing for just seven of nine balls against high-flying Gujarat Titans on Monday.

The incredible athleticism eventually played a part in SRH’s convincing eight-wicket victory in an important match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Tripathi took the incredible catch in the third over of the game when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bowling. Bhuvi pitched the ball up and Gill went for the booming drive.

While the ball was moving like a bolt from the blue, Tripathi flew like a bird in the air by diving to his left side. Subsequently, he plucked it out of thin air much to the dismay of the opposition and even his own teammates.

It was of course one of the best catches of the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league which probably changed the course of the game in SRH’s favour.
