Cricket buffs across the globe are still nostalgic about the thrilling match in the inaugural edition of T20 World Cup back in 2007 in which the Men in Blue beat their arch-rivals Pakistan in a tense bowl-out. It remains one of the most memorable matches between the arch-rivals.

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat and restricted India to 141. However, the bowling department kept the hopes alive, keeping a tight length and not allowing Pakistan take control of the proceedings. In the end, Pakistan failed to chase down India’s total but scored just enough to produce a late drama in the contest.

Much like a penalty shoot-out in football, the bowl-out saw both the teams make attempts at striking the wicket with no batsman in front of it. For India Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Robin Uthappa hit the bull’s eye. While Pakistan’s Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi missed the target, helping India win the match by a margin of 3-0.

Fifteen years down the line, some of the legends-cum-commentators from India and Pakistan created a same kind of context at the sideline of a cricket match. However, much to the dismay of the Pakisan fans, the Indian team came up with flying colours again with a dominant 3-0 win.

The video has been shared by Out Of Context Cricket on twitter with the caption, “2007 bowl out flashbacks.”

In the funny video, it is found that three legendary cricketers from each side are engaged in a bowl out. At first it was the turn of former Pakisan skipper and current PCB chief Ramiz Raja. Raja tried his best to hit the stumps by hitting the deck hard. But it went fractionally down the leg missing the stump by whisker. However, Little Master Sunil Gavaskar opened the account for India with a flighted delivery which kissed the top of the leg stump and the jubilant batsman celebrated it in style.

Pakistan missed it again in their second chance as the ball missed the stump by miles down the leg side. India was opportunistic again as stylish VVS Laxman hit the middle stump followed by a jubilant celebration.

Subsequently, Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar came charging in but sprayed an out-swinger which missed the stump again which left the Pakistan legends frustrated. Then Laxman Sivaramakrishnan’s effective leg spin disturbed the timber and India hit the target for the third consecutive time in a row.

Several netizens and cricket videos are amused by the video which has so far garnered around 330k views and over 16.9K likes.

“But they say Pax produced world class bowlers,” wrote a fan in response to the video.

“Sivaram Krishnan hitting stumps with legspin,” another amused netizen commented.
