India fast bowler and the main architect of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph, recently expressed his admiration for India’s run machine Virat Kohli and heaped praises on the star batsman. The fast bowler reminisced about his experiences of playing with the cricket legend.

“Virat is different. He is energy-driven, he is quite passionate, he wears his heart on his sleeve. He pushed us in terms of fitness, he changed the narrative that way. Even though now Virat is not the Captain of the team, he is still the leader,” Bumrah said while speaking to Indian Express.

The pacer’s words shed light on the strong bond and understanding between the two players, which has developed over the course of their time together in the IPL and the Indian National Team.

Reflecting on his early days, Bumrah also expressed his admiration for MS Dhoni and Rohit for the support that has propelled Indian cricket forward.

“When I made the debut, MS gave me lots of security, I felt secured; he believed in instincts,” Bumrah said as he heaped praises on the world-cup winning ‘Thala’. For Rohit Sharma, Bumrah said, “Rohit Sharma had lots of empathy; he understood players emotions and what they were going through; everyone has helped Indian cricket go forward.”
