Cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) often attracts talented cricketers across the globe. However, there are also many brilliant cricketers who remain unsold in the mega event. Later, they catch the attention of several fans and experts across the globe by scripting incredible records in other T20 leagues.
Take the case of New Zealand cricketer Finn Allen who has gone unsold in the IPL for three years in a row. He went on in a six-hitting spree in the first match of the Major League Cricket (MLC). In the process, he shattered the world record for most sixes in T20s.
Playing for the San Francisco Unicorns, Allen blew away the Washington Freedom bowling attack at Oakland Coliseum on Friday. He shattered multiple records in the process including Chris Gayle’s long-standing world mark for most sixes in a T20 innings. He swatted 19 sixes en route to a sensational 151 off just 51 deliveries.

Allen surpassed the previous record of 18 sixes jointly held by Chris Gayle (2017) and Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan (2024), setting a new global benchmark for maximums in a men’s T20 match.
The 26-year-old batter brought up his half-century in just 20 balls. He accelerated further, reaching his fourth career T20 century in just 34 balls. It was the fastest ever century in MLC history.
