Born on September 4, 2000, he began his cricketing journey at the age of nine under the mentorship of Charanjit Bhangu and Harjinder Singh. His early career saw him representing Punjab in U-16 and U-19 tournaments, showcasing his potential with consistent performances. 

A significant highlight of Wadhera's early career was his record-breaking innings of 578 runs during the semi-final of the Inter-District U-23 Cricket Championship in April 2022. This feat surpassed Brian Lara's record for the highest individual score in a four-day match and earned him recognition from Junior Chamber International. 

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Wadhera made his debut with the Mumbai Indians in 2023, scoring 241 runs in 14 matches with a highest score of 64. His performances caught the attention of the Punjab Kings, who acquired him for Rs 4.20 crore in the 2025 IPL auction.
