Odisha para-badminton ace Gedala Dillaswar Rao showcased exceptional skill and determination at the Thailand Para-Badminton International 2025, securing a bronze medal in the Men’s Doubles SL3–SL4 category alongside partner Dinesh Rajaiah on Sunday.
Their journey to the podium was marked by a dominant quarterfinal victory, where they defeated Adhikari Prakash (Nepal) and Cheyang Kuenchap (Bhutan) with a commanding scoreline of 21–8, 21–12.
In the semifinals, despite a valiant effort, the Indian pair went down 3–21, 12–21, securing a well-deserved place among the tournament’s top three teams.
This achievement further cemented Dillaswar Rao’s reputation as one of India’s top para-badminton athletes and underscores Odisha’s growing legacy in para-sports. Rao’s success continues to inspire a new generation of athletes in the state and beyond.
