The much-awaited high-voltage clash between India vs Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to take place at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9.

Both the countries do not engage in bilateral series and only lock horns in ICC tournaments. Hence this clash between the two Asian heavyweights is a rare occurrence.

Both India and Pakistan are in the same group. Both the teams need top-two finish to advance to the Super 8s. Apart from India and Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and the USA are also the part of the same group. While the minnows have the potential to cause upsets, India and Pakistan are expected to progress if they showcase their best cricket abilities.

Apart from the league stage, there is also a possibility that arch-rivals India and Pakistan may also meet each other in the semifinals if both of them qualify for Super 8s.

The Men in Blue and Pakistan will be placed in separate groups during the Super 8s stage. The winner of Group A will be paired with the winner of Group C, along with the runners-up of Groups B and D. Conversely, the runners-up of Group A will be matched with the runner-up of Group C, as well as the winners of Groups B and D.

Notably, in T20 World Cups, India has historically dominated Pakistan, winning seven out of eight matches.
