Team India is considered as one of the title favourites for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to be jointly co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA in June.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already announced the Indian squad that will be travelling to the USA and the West Indies for the marquee event.

However, there has been massive debates over the batting line up for the Men in Blue. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer had some suggestions for the side’s batting order.

According to Jaffer, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli should open the innings for the Indian team, with the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav batting in the middle order.

"Kohli & Jaiswal should open in the World Cup imo. Rohit & SKY should bat 3&4 depending on the start we get. Rohit plays spin really well so batting at 4 shouldn't be a concern. #T20WorldCup #INDvPAK #INDvIRE," Jaffer wrote on X (earlier known as Twitter).

Notably, the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, has been placed in Group A of the marquee event. The Men in Blue will be sharing their group stage clashes with Ireland, the USA, Canada, and arch-rivals Pakistan.
