Following contrasting victories against arch-rival Pakistan and Netherlands, India will take on South Africa in their third match of the Super-12 of the ongoing T-20 World Cup at Perth Stadium on Sunday.

This clash will be the 24th between both the sides and sixth in T20 World Cup. India have won 13, lost nine while one match was abandoned in 23 previous T-20Is against the Proteas.

South Africa have just managed to win one match against the Men in Blue in T20 World Cups. They have lost four in five matches played in the mega events. They have won one, lost three and abandoned one in the last five T20 Internationals played against India.

South Africa’s only victory against India in Twenty-20 World Cup came at Nottingham on June 16, 2009.

South Africa (130/5) got the better of India by 12 runs. The Proteas registered a 49-run victory over India when two teams met last time in a T20I at Indore on October 4, 2022.

Riding on Rilee Rossouw’s first blistering T20I century, South Africa put up their fourth-highest total in the format, and India crumbled in their mammoth run chase of 228. The 49-run reversal was India’s first defeat in their last 17 chases in T20Is at home.
