Sanju Samson and Abhishek Nayar Singing a song
He can score 2 consecutive centuries in T20 cricket and can nail a popular Bollywood song with his voice. Yes, we are taking about Sanju Samson who was the star of the moment during Team India’s dinner in Kolkata ahead of the start of the five Match T20 Series against England.
Singing the popular song ‘Pehla Nasha’ from the 1991 blockbuster movie of Aamir Khan ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’, Sanju Samson took to social media to showcase his singing skills, which impressed many of his teammates. He was joined by Abhishek Nayar in a mini karaoke session, Sanju Samson enjoyed his rendition of the iconic song.
He further asked his fans whether he should move to Mumbai, hinting at a potential career in Bollywood as a singer.
“Nothing is impossible. Njan paadi (I sang). Mein Mumbai aa sakta hu (Can I come to Mumbai?),” Samson wrote, sharing his post in three different languages.
In Response, India’s T20 Captain Suryakumar Yadav wasted no time in coming up with a cheeky comment,
“Aap Mumbai aa rahe hai lekin Chennai, Rajkot, Pune audition ke baad (You’re coming to Mumbai, but after auditions in Chennai, Rajkot, and Pune),” Suryakumar replied.
Samson was picked as the first-choice wicketkeeper for the T20I series against England. The Kerala star may have missed out on a spot in India’s Champions Trophy squad, but he remains a key member of the T20I side due to his consistency in the shorter format.
In 2024, Samson was in blazing form as he scored 436 runs in 13 matches in T20Is last year, smashing three hundreds and one fifty.
India will begin their 5-match T20I series in Kolkata on Wednesday, 22 January. The series will then move to Chennai, Rajkot, and Pune before concluding with the decider in Pune.
