Sprint queen of Odisha Dutee Chand has alleged ragging by seniors during her stay at the Sports Hostel in Bhubaneswar. As per the allegation by the Olympian, when she was starting her career and staying at the Sports Hostel in the Capital city from 2006-2008, seniors were ragging her regularly.
“Seniors used to force me to massage their bodies and wash their clothes at the Sports Hostel. When I don’t follow their orders, they used to torture me,” alleged the top athlete.
“Senior athletes also used to comment on the status and financial condition of my family,” she said. Dutee further alleged that nobody was paying any heed to her plight.
“When I was complaining about our plight to the hostel in-charge, I was getting scolded. The incidents used to take a mental toll on me. However, I had to bear the torture patiently as nobody was paying any attention to my complaint. I was helpless at that time,” said the top sprinter.
