It was a double delight for Odia star Pramod Bhagat as he won two medals in two events of the Spanish Para-Badminton International 2023 Level-II tournament which concluded at Victoria in Spain on Sunday.

While Pramod emerged champions in the doubles event, he finished runner-up in the singles event.

The Odia star partnered Sukant Kadam to get the better of compatriot Nitesh Kumar and Tarun Dhillon 22-20, 12-21, 22-09 in a high-voltage final match.

While the duo of Pramod and Sukant won the first set in a tough contest, Nitesh and Tarun prevailed in the following set. However, Pramod and his partner bounced back and sealed the third and the final set with a dominating display.

Earlier, Pramod and Sukant had defeated the Chinese Taipei duo of Hsing Chih Huang and Yeh En Chuan 21-16, 21-17 in the semi-final to seal their spot in the summit clash of the doubles event.

Meanwhile, Pramod had to be satisfied with a silver medal in the singles event as he went down against Daniel Bethell of England 18-21, 08-21 in the final.

The first set was a keenly-contested affair as it went down the wire with Pramod losing in the end. However, in the second set, Bethell dominated completely and didn’t give Pramod any chance to come back.

Meanwhile, another Odia player Subhrajeet Moharana bagged the bronze medal in the doubles event. Subhrajeet and his partner Md Arbaz Ansari lost to compatriot Tarun Dhillon and Nitesh Kumar 09-21, 10-21 in a semifinal match.
