The night may have belonged to PBKS’ Jonny Bairstow, but young talent Shashank Singh was exceptional and played an equally significant innings for Preity Zinta’s Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens. His stupendous batting laced with eight sixes left SRK’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) baffled.

Shashank’s heroic innings with a thunderous unbeaten 68 runs off just 28 balls was surreal. Fans could not believe what unfolded right in front of their eyes. His magical batting helped Punjab Kings pull off a sensational heist to record the highest-ever successful chase in T20 history.

Preity Zinta may have purchased the wrong Shashank, but he is making all the right moves for her team. It seems like cricket God really said ‘bless you’ when Punjab got him, luckily or unluckily. Shashank has turned out to be a proper clutch player with outstanding skills and great game awareness.

Unfortunately, he might not be selected for the national team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, but he could have been a sure shot surprise package if he was included in the national team.

After ensuring his team’s terrific win, Shashank celebrated it with a SRK pose. The batting sensation broke into the iconic SRK open arms pose to celebrate his team’s win after his massive knock. His team shared the video with the Bollywood legend’s blockbuster movie ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ playing in the background, and wrote, “Ssssshhhhh…..Shaaaashaaaa…nnnnnnnkkkk….”
