Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has compared the leadership styles of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in a novel way.

Watson, who has played under Virat in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and under Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) levelled Kohli as ‘Superhuman’.

“Virat is a great leader. He has done incredible things both as a player and as a captain. He always has high expectations on players and himself. For me, he is a ‘Superhuman’. His cricketing knowledge is fascinating. It was a great experience for me to play under Virat in RCB,” said Watson.

Shedding light on Dhoni, the veteran all-rounder said the CSK skipper has ice running through his veins.

“He is always ice-cool. His ability to take pressure out of a team environment is always amazing. He trusts his players fully and makes sure that everyone has faith in their abilities. The ‘Captain Cool’ trusts his instincts on the field and always backs his players,” said Watson.

The burly all-rounder also heaped praise on the newly appointed Test skipper of the Indian team Rohit Sharma.

“Rohit is such a natural leader. Nothing seems to perturb him on the ground. He has done a great job as a captain of the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. I am hopeful that the Indian team will be in good shape under his able captainship as well,” he added.
