India’s run machine Virat Kohli created history at Eden Gardens on Sunday after equalling Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s 49th ODI century on his 35th birthday. Virat’s historic moment at Eden Gardens against South Africa packed with exuberant fans was a special moment for everyone.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the ace batsman for creating history on his birthday. However, a special message came from the man himself, the GOAT of cricket- Sachin Tendulkar. Sending best wishes to Virat, Sachin wrote, “It took me 365 days to go from 49 to 50 earlier this year. I hope you go from 49 to 50 and break my record in the next few days. Congratulations.”

The master blaster hilariously joked and said that it took a year for him to go from 49 to 50 (referring to his age), but hopes Kohli would break his record in the coming days.

Interestingly, Sachin had also predicted that Virat Kohli would break his record much before. In an event organised to celebrate his 100th century in international cricket, Sachin had revealed that he wanted Virat and Rohit Sharma to break his record on being asked by superstar Salman Khan.

Salman jokingly asked, “I hope this record breaks because records are made to be broken. I am trying to break Aamir Khan’s records for a while now but in vain. Toh, Sachin ka record todna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai. Who do you think will break your record?”

In reply, Sachin had replied, “I see many youngsters in the back. Virat and Rohit are the ones. As long as an Indian breaks my record, I don’t mind.”

Sachin’s prophetic words have come true and fans cannot stop praising the Master Blaster for being the GOAT of cricket.
