Rohit Sharma
After registering a comfortable win against Afghanistan in Mohali, Indian captain Rohit Sharma achieved a huge milestone as he became the only T20 player to register 100 T20I wins. The explosive batsman was playing a white ball match after the final of ICC World Cup Final 2023 where Australia defeated India to clinch their 6th World Cup.
After a 14-month lull, Rohit returned to T20I cricket, but he had a forgettable evening with the bat as Rohit was run out on the second ball of the second innings due to a terrible mix-up with fellow opener Shubman Gill.
Shivam Dube's cameo of 60 runs helped India win the first T20 international against Afghanistan in Mohali.
Rohit Sharma: 100
Shoaib Malik: 86
Virat Kohli: 73
Mohammad Hafeez: 70
Mohammad Nabi: 70
Rohit Sharma began his T20 International career in World T20 2007 as he played crucial knocks in the group stage matches. In the final against arch-rival Pakistan, it was Rohit Sharma's crucial 30 runs that propelled India towards a respectable total. Later, India won a nail-biting final Vs Pakistan by 5 runs in Johannesburg as India emerged as the inaugural World T20 Champions in 2007.
The second match between India and Afghanistan will be played on 14 January in Indore.
